但是水平有限，很多地方，尤其是涉及到J5早期的专辑背景资料真的是很心虚，很多地方知道自己翻译的不对，但不知道该怎样去理解。
因为不想误导看资料的迈亲，所以希望贴出来请大家给与指正，改正自己的错误，使资料更加严谨。

Free to Be… You and Me, a project of the Ms. Foundation for Women, is a record album and illustrated book first released in November 1972 featuring songs and stories sung or told by celebrities of the day (credited as "Marlo Thomas and Friends") including Alan Alda, Rosey Grier, Cicely Tyson, Carol Channing, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross.
An ABC Afterschool Specialusing poetry, songs, and sketches, followed two years later in March 1974. The basic concept was to encourage post-1960s gender neutrality, saluting values such as individuality, tolerance, and comfort with one's identity. A major thematic message is that anyone—whether a boy or a girl—can achieve anything.

Michael Jackson performs the beautiful ballad "With A Child's Heart" on Soul
Train in 1973. Michael was 14. The Jackson 5 were enormously successful at this point, but Michael always came back to Soul Train to visit his old friend, Don Cornelius.

With a Child's Heart" was released as the first single from Michael's 1973 album Music & Me. Clip includes a photo montage as Michael sings one of Don's favorite songs.

Jackson 5 Lookin' Through The Windows Original Release: 1972 Synopsis Released on Motown Records on 23rd May 1972, the fifth studio LP by the Jackson 5 would go on to sell three and a half million copies. Once again produced by Motown’s “The Corporation” in association with Hal Davis, it features the hits ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’, ‘Lookin' Through The Windows’ and a cover of Jackson Browne’s ‘Doctor My Eyes’. Lookin' Through The Windows is a transitional work that shows a growing maturity in singer Michael Jackson’s voice, then still only 13 years old.

Love's Alright is the third musical album by comedian and singerEddie Murphy. The album was released on February 23, 1993 byMotown Records, and was produced by Murphy, David Allen Jones and Ralph Hawkins. It was a critical and commercial failure, only making it to #80 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albumschart. Two singles were released: "Whatzupwitu", whose music video is patterned after the album cover and features Michael, and "I Was a King", featuring Shabba Ranks. The album did not chart well on the Billboard charts.

"Night Time Lover" is the second single by American singer La Toya Jackson, from her eponymous debut. The track was produced by her brother Michael, who provides co lead vocals on the chorus. They originally wrote the song for Donna Summer under the title "Fire Is The Feeling".
The song peaked at #59 on the Billboard R&B chart. In La Toya's 1991 autobiography, LaToya: Growing up in the Jackson Family, she revealed that Michael changed production at the last minute to make sure that it wouldn't overshadow the success of his album Off the Wall.Said mix of the song is rumored to have appeared in the Jackson family auction in Las Vegas as item 553 "Night Time Lover Monitor Mix 2-12-80".
Bobby DeBarge of Switch, Jackson's love interest, wrote the 1980 song "You and I" in response. The song begins, "You know, I was listening to the radio the other day, And I heard the words that you said that I'm your Night Time Lover."
The track "Lovely Is She" (also on the album) was on the B-side of the single.
Jackson performed the song for Dutch TV program "Toppop" in 1981.

Where Off the Wall was pretty much straight good times, Thriller introduced dread into Michael Jackson's solo work. By 1995's HIStory, this element curdled into overwhelming self-regard and out-of-touchness, but here it's bracing. While Thriller offers its share of cute ("The Girl Is Mine," a duet with Paul McCartney that was the album's first single; "P.Y.T."), the most memorable cuts remain "Billie Jean," "Beat It," and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," all of which meld musical imagination and worried-mind lyrics.

嗯，关于这篇的翻译我有些自己的看法，希望和楼主交流下。
第一段有个小问题，lz是不是把“project”看成“program”了呀~
Ms. Foundation for Women，楼楼木有翻，我猜测是类似于我们“妇联”之类的组织，供大家参考下。

第二段呢。。我的看法和楼主相差比较大。
An ABC Afterschool Specialusing poetry, songs, and sketches, followed two years later in March 1974.
"ABC Afterschool Special"是美国广播公司的一档面向青少年的系列节目。所以我觉得这里的“Specialusing” ，大概是少了个空格，应该是“ABC Afterschool Special using ”。
所以“An ABC Afterschool Specialusing poetry, songs, and sketches, followed two years later in March 1974. ” ，如果让我翻的话，也许我会认为是“两年后的1974年3月，一档名为‘ABC Afterschool Special’的系列节目中使用了这些诗词、歌曲和图片。”

“gender neutrality”，我觉得应该是“男女平等”的意思。

嗯，这段文字的大意，我的理解就是美国妇联搞了个项目，号召了一众明星参与。然后搞出了一档系列特别节目，专门面向当时的青少年，目的是向他们宣传男女平等云云的价值观。
当然只是粗浅地理解而已，也可能有些偏颇或者疏漏。

嗯，“a transitional work”是“一首过渡时期作品”的意思。楼主大概把“transitional”看成“traditional”嘞。LOL  发表于 18 秒前
