大家别太能联想了
警察署长将在一个私人公司Altegrity供职,因为那边给他的薪水更高。
另外他在洛杉矶警察局,是要到今年10月31日才离职,所以还是应该能处理MJ案。
LOS ANGELES - Former NYPD Commissioner William Bratton is trading his silver LAPD badge for a golden parachute - back in New York.
At a surprise press conference on Wednesday, Bratton said he's stepping down as L.A.'s top cop to take a better-paying job at a private security company called Altegrity.
He said he was about to get hit with a big interest-rate bump on the seven-year adjustable mortgage on his Los Feliz home.
"Despite you paying me very well, I would be literally in the poorhouse," said Bratton, who makes $300,442 a year with the LAPD.
Moving back to New York means his wife won't have a bicoastal commute, he can be closer to his elderly dad, and he can start saving for his retirement.
"Now that I'm into my 60s, I'm a little more conscious of the retirement years that lie ahead," Bratton said.
Bratton, who helped spearhead New York's historic crime drop in the mid-1990s, would not say if he has political aspirations.
He plans to leave the LAPD on Oct. 31 and will create a new division at Altegrity focusing on security and "nation-building" in "post-conflict" countries. |
