一首讲故事的歌, 结局有些伤感

The soldier came knocking upon the queen's door  士兵前来将女王的大门叩响
He said, 'I am not fighting for you any more'  他说"我不将再为你奔赴沙场"
The queen knew she'd seen his face someplace before  女王觉得他的脸似曾相识
And slowly she let him inside.  便让他进门

He said, 'I've watched your palace up here on the hill  他说"我曾远远观望你山上辉煌的宫殿
And I've wondered who's the woman for whom we all kill 我也纳闷过究竟谁是那位令我们为她杀戮的女人
But I am leaving tomorrow and you can do what you will  不过我明天就要离开,你继续照你意愿行事也无妨

Down in the long narrow hall he was led  他被领进狭长的廊道

And he took her to the window to see.  于是他将她带到窗前.

And the sun, it was gold, though the sky, it was gray  尽管天空阴沉,太阳依然闪耀着金色的光芒

But she knew how it frightened her, and she turned away  但她随即为这个念头感到惊恐, 于是她转过身

But the crown, it had fallen, and she thought she would break  王冠落在地上, 她已难以自持

She took him to the doorstep and she asked him to wait  她让他站在门边

And the soldier was killed, still waiting for her word 士兵被杀死,仍然在等待她的答复
And while the queen went on strangeling in the solitude she preferred 女王躲回往日的寂寞
The battle continued on  任凭战争打响
