apparently there was a press release stating David Gest, the producer of the Smokey Robinson event, said there was a very huge surprise guest.
Lionel Richie and James Brown were supposedly at the Dorchester this Saturday and MIGHT attend the event Gest is producing.

More than 100 stars from the recording, motion picture, television and sports fields are expected to be in attendance.
Robinson has not performed in London since 1984. There will be a private performance by Robinson and his band at the kickoff party launching the anniversary celebration. Robinson recently appeared on the David Gest produced television special "Dionne Warwick: 45th Anniversary Spectacular" taped at the Los Angeles Kodak Theatre this past January which will be seen throughout the world this fall. Robinson will be introduced at the party by a very special surprise guest.

Gest has produced more than 100 shows throughout the world and received numerous awards for his productions. In 2002, he produced the SRO Comeback Tour of Liza Minnelli in "Liza's Back" which ran for seven nights at the Royal Albert Hall and received rave reviews from critics.
Following the performance by Robinson, guests will receive a rare treat for their dancing pleasure.
