AVATAR全球票房达到20亿美元正式超过Titanic！

James Cameron's Oscar-nominated 'Avatar' has reportedly sunk his 1997 blockbuster film 'Titanic.'

The Associated Press reports that 'Avatar' is the highest grossing movie of all time domestically, reaching $601.1 million in ticket sales on Tuesday. 'Titanic' peaked at an impressive $600.8 million, a feat it held onto until today.

Just last week, 'Avatar' broke 'Titanic''s $1.84 worldwide record with $2 billion at the box office.

The AP reports that 'Titanic' sold more tickets than 'Avatar,' but the rise in movie ticket prices brings 'Avatar' to the box-office lead. The 1939 classic 'Gone With The Wind' still leads with the highest number of actual tickets sold, followed by 'Star Wars.'

截止到本周二为止，AVATAR在美国国内票房就达到6.01亿美元，超过了Titanic 6亿美元的最高票房纪录。全球票房则达到20亿美元，正式超过 Titanic 保持的18.4亿美元纪录。

美联社评论，虽然 Titanic 比 AVATAR 卖出的门票数量多，但是AVATAR赢在票价的优势上。目前电影门票卖出数量最高纪录保持者仍然是1939年奥斯卡经典电影《乱世佳人》，其次是《星球大战》。

为什么不考虑当年的泰坦尼克的电影票价呢？票房仅仅是纯数字，没有考虑到通货膨胀因素如果按可比价计算，相信泰坦尼克号至少是阿凡达的两倍。间隔12年多，CPI增长了必定一倍不止，现在的20亿也必定赶不上12年前的10亿。只是觉得很奇怪：这么简单的常识大家都晓得，为何统计票房还只是看绝对的数字呢？连美联社评论，Titanic 比 AVATAR 卖出的门票数量多，所以单看票房，没有任何意义。
